Mobile App CoffeeHouse
The Product
Users will be able to place and pick up large orders simultaneously using the CoffeeHouse app, avoiding lengthy checkout lines.

The Problem
At CoffeeHouse, customers prefer to avoid standing in line to receive their orders. Sometimes individuals can’t get the item they want since it’s out of stock because of great demand and long lines.
The Goal
Our CoffeeHouse mobile app will let users place their orders in advance, which will affect the busy professionals like Tania by helping them avoid standing in queues and collecting their order when it’s ready.

Waiting in line
The long line at the coffee shop and the brief work break frustrate customers.
Availability issues
Matching the bulk order list with what is actually available leads to confusion.

User Profile
Tania belongs to the second generation of an Indian American family. She did her major at New York University in MBA Human Resources. She lives alone in New York. She got a job as an intern at IBM. She is a hard-working girl who is trying her best to become permanent after her internship is over.
Tania goes to the coffeehouse to pick up an order for herself and up to a dozen coworkers. Her tight schedule forced her to order CoffeeHouse items in advance so she could pick them up quickly and efficiently. She drinks a lot of coffee to stay active, spends a major part of her time in the office, and coordinating with her seniors. She is the ideal customer for CoffeeHouse. The most common frustration for Tania involves the coordination of her pick-up. At times, lack of coordination leads to an incomplete or incorrect large order. Sometimes the order is left too long and the coffee or hot food items become cold.

Tania is a busy HR intern who needs CoffeeHouse’s mobile app because a lot of her time is spent at CoffeeHouse queue, coordination of her pick-up, and waiting for her order to get ready.

If Tania, an HR intern, could use CoffeeHouse’s mobile app to place her bulk order in advance, track her order, and take her order when it is ready, then she would be able to save a lot of time and utilize that time on learning productive office work.

Impact
Users find it quite helpful to be able to quickly add and delete products from the CoffeeHouse app’s home screen and following screens, since they may add items to their cart from the home screen, individual item’s screen, and cart screen.
What I learned?
The user interfaces of apps for food and drink require ongoing improvement. Existing solutions are ad hoc and only appropriate to address users’ immediate demands. In the long run, user experience designs must change to reflect consumer expectations and market trends.
